Thanks for taking us back to memory lane. Outstanding!! Never knew about Chuck Connors athletic abilities and shame on Aunt Bea for turning away Ron Howard and Andy Griffith. Those were the days when we had good, wholesome TV shows to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed SMC!!!!

Roy, you are simply incredible. Your recall and attention to detail is amazing. Being older than you, I especially appreciate the opportunity to relive the good old days. They are missed but remembered forever.

Boy, did you bring back memories, Roy . . . I am an only child and grew up on TV. It helped educate me about the world and people in it. I learned to laugh, cry, feel empathy, anger, love. I watched all the shows you mentioned (Dad also loved “Bonanza”) with my family in our small den (where a special book case held all my “World Books”!). A bit later (1968), “60 Minutes” crept into the viewing as well. I’m with you . . . it was an incredible era to grow up in. Thanks for the memories.

As always great writing and content. My only quibble about a simpler halcyon 1950s theme is the fact that as I recall it there was the threat of nuclear annihilation that was reinforced by the duck and cover drills under our desks at school. But as Kahnemann and other researchers have shown all our memories of the past are well edited stories that we tell ourselves. Each one of us tells ourselves different stories. My story may be different than yours but I still enjoy hearing yours because you tell it so well.

Roy, I thoroughly enjoyed today’s stories. So nice we can still catch these shows on tv. I started watching Leave It To Beaver recently. Talk about funny. I have passed your SMC to my 5 older siblings. I know they will enjoy it. Thanks for reminiscing.

Thanks for allowing me to relive my childhood this morning.

BTW, as for the same clohes on Superman, I think Clark Kent has worn the same blue suit with a red tie in the comics forever, and I don't think they had any budgetary concerns. Hope you and your family are well!

Thanks Mike. Those were indeed the days but we were too young to realize it!
